Trying to avoid an "I told you so" at work... [Aug. 22nd, 2011|04:49 pm]
John
...while simultaneously thinking "...but I *did*." And, at least, hoping that next time, I'm listened to.

(I am semi-relieved that I wasn't the person who got stuck with the tasks of fixing the errors. Oh, *my*, can I be undiplomatic when my advice is ignored and I end up doing cleanup. At the same time, someone else did get stuck with cleanup and that makes me unhappy too.)

Most times when I'm on the other end of that kind of deal, I'm giving myself enough "oh, jeez, they told me so, too..." that nobody else needs to remind me.

Nod. I heard someone say that in Texas, there's an old saying "no one needs you to tell him that he dropped the ball."

Apparently, to judge from politics , that only applies to physical balls when it's obvious that they've been dropped. In the political arena... well, never mind :-).
