John
So, I have a full weekend before me, my wife is out of town, I have a book to finish, cleaning I could do I just found out I'm losing my job on Tuesday or at the end of the month, kinda my choice, and I think I can play writing off of cleaning to get a lot of both done, so it should be a productive weekend.

Best of all, because I was planning on not being at my place of employment for the entire year, I took an early three day weekend, using one of my personal days. So, I have a nearly-full three days to get all of this done in.

Time to tackle this blasted writing. I think I might be almost-ready for it.

Thanks; the writing is nearly done; lots of editing, a little re-write, and a wrap-up are all that's needed. The job search has barely begun, but I have weeks before I have to be worried about it.

Thanks; I have good hopes. It'll certainly be a better job situation, but then, so is unemployment (1/2 a :-) )

GoodThoughts on the way for the job situation. It's hard to tell from this how concerned you are about it all, but I figure GoodThoughts are never out of place.

I'm not concerned, really... not yet. I'm still riding a high from finishing the major work in my book, including a few realizations that might make the book that much more hard-hitting, and that much more salable.

I keep trying to remind myself, "that doesn't mean it'll sell, the odds are still better than 100 to one against", but still....

Well, it's always better to quit with an "I have another job offer". But, it's fine the way it is.

Thank you; I love you too, and I think I'll find something in plenty of time, long before unemployment runs out.

Thanks; I haven't really gotten a job search under way, yet, but I've got some of the groundwork laid. I have a good feeling, too, though I suppose that could be wishful thinking :-).

I'm sure it is for the best, and, who knows, the timing might even turn out to be for the best, in the end. Pat's going to help me with editing my book while I do a little job searching here, and then I can send my book out to publishers, so it can get roundly rejected, while I turn into an embittered philosopher.

(Pat and I decided I should be an embittered philosopher, rather than an embittered artist, because philosophers drink better.)

In the meantime, I'm enjoying freedom with a touch of hopeful job searching in the middle.
