Imagine of Pope John Paul II's throat condition got so bad he needed a feeding tube, and he decided that he didn't want to get one.|
That might be taken as ipso facto proof that he was no longer competent. However, it's very difficult to imagine, given his long record.
Hehehehe. The thought has crossed my mind.
Of course, the world would very likely never know, because in The Vatican, the church is the state.
Not a chance; that man is determined to live as long as he possibly can.

Cardinal Joseph Ratziger today announced that he has ordered continued interventional measures to prolong the life of Pope John Paul II. The feeding tube inserted into the comatose Pontiff's stomach in 2004 has now been replaced by nutrient solution hoses directly attached to the Pope's remaining brain tissues, since his stomach has deteriorated, his heart has stopped, his lungs have atrophied, and most of his body has decomposed.
In other news L'Osservatore Romano reports that Cardinal Gullielmo Giannini, the only other remaining cardinal, died peacefully in his sleep at his Vatican apartment. Funeral arrangements are pending.
This evil, sick, twisted thought has inspired me to add you to my reading list.
